Beethoven, apparently feeling better at last, today writes to publisher Adoph Martin Schlesinger in Berlin. Beethoven announces that he has sent off to Berlin under separate cover the corrected proofs of the 25 Scottish Songs, op.108.
Brandenburg Letter 1459; not in Anderson. The letter is today lost, but its contents and date are known from Brandenburg Letters 1460 and 1474.
The Vienna music vendors were quick to capitalize on Rossini’s presence in the capital, with Artaria & Co. today advertising “Le Rossiniane” for guitar op. 119 by Mauro Giuliani and a portrait of Rossini, while Pietro Mechetti is selling various selections in piano arrangement from La Donna del Lago.
