BEETHOVEN 200 YEARS AGO TODAY: Monday, September 16, 1822

In today’s Wiener Zeitung at pp. 851-852, Cappi & Diabelli repeats its advertisement from last week about Carl Czerny’s new series of editions of classical works, The Art of Fingering, Volume five of these first six volumes includes Beethoven’s Sonata Pathètique, op.13, with Czerny’s fingerings, which would naturally be close to Beethoven’s own.
