BEETHOVEN 200 YEARS AGO TODAY: Saturday, June 22, 1822

Music publisher Antonio Pacini writes to Beethoven from Paris today, requesting any unpublished quartets or quintets for his publishing house. He also asks for a catalogue of Beethoven’s works that have been published in Vienna.

Brandenburg Letter 1472 (not in Anderson). The original of this letter in lost, but its existence is known from a followup letter of December 27, 1822 (Brandenburg Letter 1518, Albrecht Letters to Beethoven 300).
