BEETHOVEN 200 YEARS AGO TODAY: Thursday, November 30, 1820
Beethoven remains off the hook for lessons since the Archduke is still performing his priestly duties in Troppau. This gives the composer time to work intensively on the Agnus Dei of the Missa Solemnis, with fewer interruptions.
Today, the Wiener Zeitung of Tuesday December 5 reports, Archduke Rudolph, as cardinal and archbishop, gives the sacrament of confirmation at the Jesuit Church in Troppau (today the Church of St. Adalbert in Opava, Czech Republic).
