In today’s Zeitung für die elegante Welt [Newspaper for the Elegant World], Nr.207 at 1662, published in Leipzig, there is a brief report about Beethoven’s friend, pianist and composer Ignaz Moscheles. “Mr. Moscheles, whose mastery a large audience had the opportunity to admire at his concert held last Monday, will, in response to a frequently expressed wish, give a second concert next Saturday, October 23rd, in the hall of the Gewandhaus, which may serve as preliminary, and certainly very pleasant, news for friends and admirers of art.”
