BEETHOVEN 200 YEARS AGO TODAY: Wednesday, August 17, 1825

Beethoven works on the quartet op.130, which is progressing nicely, in the morning. In the afternoon, he goes to a coffee house and reads yesterday’s Vienna newspapers. He copies down a book: “+ The Art of Healing Illnesses of the Ear and of Hearing” which is available at Mörschner and Jasper’s at Kohlmarkt Nr.257.
